Mindful Eyes Foundation Fundraiser!

As you know, I have created a tax-exempt 501(c) (3) non-profit organization called
Mindful Eyes Foundation, Inc. The specific purpose of this foundation is to help arrange vision and eye health care appointments with the School of Optometry and community Optometrists and Ophthalmologists and to provide prescription eyeglasses to low income and homeless adults who are otherwise unable to obtain assistance through private insurance, welfare, or other social services agencies. Research in the US shows that homeless individuals have more vision problems than the general population. Uncorrected or untreated vision problems affect their ability to function optimally, to socialize and engage in normal activities of daily living, as well as affect earning potential, and job opportunity.

Mindful Eyes Foundation is in partnership with Berkeley Free Clinic and provide services every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month in the evening.

We are currently organizing our first Mindful Eyes Foundation Fundraiser!

The funds we raise will go toward purchasing vision screening equipment, pay for the cost of making prescription eyeglasses, and covering our operating expenses. We have no paid employees. Everyone is a volunteer including all the members of our board of directors. In order to make a difference, we rely on the support of generous individuals and businesses in our community and our profession. We would be most grateful if you would consider attending our fundraiser. If you are unable to attend and would like to make a monetary donation you can do so by going to our website, Your support is critical to the success of our foundation, and we will gladly keep you updated on our progress should you wish. Please contact me at mhoff@mindfuleyesfoundation.org or (510) 387-6700 if you are able to support our efforts to make a difference to the underprivileged in need of our services. Thank you so much for your kind consideration of our request. I hope to see you at the fundraiser.

Sincerely,
